When the pilots were finally woken up by anxious Mumbai air traffic controllers, the plane was about half way to Goa. This nap in the sky took place about a fortnight ago on the domestic leg of a Dubai-Jaipur-Mumbai flight - IC 612 - which had about 100 passengers on board. "The plane took off from Dubai at 1.35am IST and then from Jaipur at 7am. After operating an overnight flight, fatigue levels peak, and so the pilots dozed off after taking off from Jaipur," said a source.

Rajinikanth has once again proved that he is the real superstar of Kollywood. The audio of Kuselan has been sold for a whopping Rs 2.25 crore by its producers to Big Music. It is the highest price ever paid for a Tamil film by an audio company. The official audio launch will take place on Monday at a suburban five-star hotel in Chennai. Rajinikanth and the rest of the Kuselan team including Nayanthara, Pasupathy, Vadivel, Meena, director P Vasu, producer K Balachandar and music director G V Prakash will attend the function. The buzz is that the chief guest at the function will be Prakash's uncle and mentor A R Rahman. The mere name Rajinikanth, spells magic not only at the box-office but also in sale of audios. The audio company is coming out with two lakhs CD's (Rs 99) and cassettes (Rs 45) of the film, which will be on sale from July 1 morning in all music outlets worldwide. Says a beaming Umesh Pai, General Manager South, Big Music, "Never before in the history of Tamil audio has two lakh CD's and cassettes been available in the market on the opening day. There is already an order for 1.15 units from the dealers. We are expecting it to beat all sales records once the film is released. The company is also reported to be spending another Rs 30 lakhs towards promotions and merchandising of the album. In addition to that, the digital downloads of the songs in the film has been sold by the audio company.

Looking ahead to slake the thirst of a parched Bangalore, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) is moving towards Bangalore's valleys for sources. A BWSSB blueprint on a four-phase project to recycle water from the city's lakes was presented to chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Tuesday during a review meeting of projects taken up by Bangalore's civic agencies. The first phase - the Vrishabhavathi valley scheme - has been approved under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JN-NURM). Under the project, water will be taken from Vrishabhavathi, treated, made potable and let into the TG Halli reservoir and pumped into the city. The Rs-473 crore project is estimated to yield 135 MLD. Days after 16-year-old girl from Kolkata went into coma after being rebuked on a reality show, opinion is divided over who is to be blamed for her plight -- her parents or the judges on the show. In what was a dramatic moment on a reality show, the judgest decided to oust a young teenage girl from the show, which left her in tears. However, for 16-year-old Shinjini Sengupta, the rebuke proved to be devastating. The oust affected her to an extent that she went into depression. Within days, she lost her speech and was unable to even move her limbs. Shinjini is now admitted in a hospital in Bangalore, where she is under psychatric care. Devastated at what has happened to his daughter, Shinjini's father said that the line has to be drawn somewhere. He said, "I am fighting for my daughter's life and death. So this should not take place for other father's as well. Such kind of programme's should be stopped."
